She [topic-は] he [for-に] various kind things [object-を] [did-for-someone-close-してくれた].

A subtle use of ~てくれる. Normally ~てくれる describes someone doing something for the speaker, but it extends to the speaker's in-group. Here the speaker views the kindness from 彼's perspective and includes him in their own circle — the choice of ~てくれる over the otherwise-equivalent ~てあげる is itself a statement that 彼 is 'one of us.' This in-group/out-group identification is built into the grammar of giving and receiving.
