She asked me to help her with her homework.

Literal

She [topic-は] me [to-に] homework [object-を] help [for her-てくれる] [as-ように] asked.

A two-layered request structure. The pattern ~てくれるように頼む is the polite, third-person way to say 'ask someone to do something for [the asker].' The ~てくれる layer keeps the original speaker's perspective alive: from 彼女's viewpoint, 'someone helps for me' uses くれる (the inward-direction verb). When the sentence speaker reports this request, they preserve that perspective. Without the くれる, 手伝うように頼む would be neutral — 'asked me to help' (with the beneficiary unstated). With くれる, it explicitly frames help as flowing toward 彼女.
