But my companions, while they had ambition, were clueless about fundraising and management.

Literal

But, companions [topic-は] ambition [topic-は] exist-[even-if-ても], fundraising [and-や] management [toward-には] ignorant were.

Two は particles in the same sentence — 仲間たちは and 志は — with the second one scoped to a subordinate 'even if' clause. Japanese allows multiple は topics when they operate at different scope levels. ~ても on the existence verb ある yields 'even if there is X,' a concessive. や lists items non-exhaustively ('A and B and others'), whereas と would list exhaustively. ~には marks the domain of 無知 ('ignorance of').
