Two pieces. The frame ~といけない ('it would be bad if X') stacks the conditional ~と ('if/when') with the evaluative いけない ('won't do, no good') to express undesirable consequences. Common in worried planning: 遅れるといけない ('it'd be bad to be late'), 風邪をひくといけない ('it'd be bad to catch a cold'). The whole つかまるといけない clause is then taken as the reason via ので ('because, since') — the softer, more objective causal connector compared to から. つかまる ('be caught, be grabbed') is the intransitive partner of つかまえる ('catch, grab').
