That's not what I heard. Apparently he's trying to get back with his wife.

Literal

I [of-の] heard [thing-の] [from-とは] different [reflective-な]. Wife [with-と] reconciliation [object-を] attempt-do [seemingly-らしい-よ].

Two sentences. The first uses のとは違う ('different from what...') — の nominalizes '僕の聞いた,' then とは is 'from' (standard-of-comparison と + contrastive は), and 違う ('to differ'). The second uses よりを戻す, a set idiom literally 'to untwine/untwist' but meaning 'to get back together [with a former partner].' らしい marks hearsay/inference from information. Nicely gossip-flavored.
