The more you study, the more you realize how little you know.

Literal

Study-if-do [the more-ほど], own [gen-の] not-knowing degree [subject-が] know [is the thing-ものだ].

A layered sentence. (1) ~ば~ほど is the 'the more X, the more Y' correlative construction. (2) 知らなさ nominalizes 知らない via the ~さ suffix (for abstract noun forms of adjectives: 大きい → 大きさ, 寒い → 寒さ). (3) 加減 ('degree, amount') attaches to form 'the degree of one's ignorance.' (4) ~ものだ closes with a generalizing 'is the way things are' flavor.
