あまりにも (excessively)

The emphatic intensifier adverb あまりに(も), 'far too / excessively / too much by far / too X to bear.' Stronger than the bare あまり (which often appears in negation as 'not too'). Used with adjectives or before a clause: あまりにも難しい ('too difficult'), あまりにも遅すぎる ('far too late'). Not bound to negative predicates.
