扱いを受ける (be treated)

The set collocation 扱いを受ける, 'to be treated, to receive treatment.' Often paired with descriptive adjectives: ひどい扱いを受ける ('be treated terribly'), 特別な扱いを受ける ('receive special treatment'). 受ける ('receive') is impersonal — used when the agent of the treatment is unspecified or unimportant.
