どうなっている (what's the state?)

The set question pattern どうなっている / どうなっていますか ('what's the state of X?, how does it stand?, what is the arrangement?'), using ~ている to describe a current state of affairs. Used to ask about the current state or arrangement of something rather than its identity. Casual form: どうなってる？
