~がてら (incidentally, while also)

A conjunction attached to a noun (often an activity) meaning 'while also doing X / taking the opportunity of X.' 散歩がてら = 'while out for a walk / taking a walk as the occasion.' More literary than ついでに but used in spoken Japanese too.
