Japanese has speech features that traditionally pattern by gender — sentence-final particles (わ, かしら for feminine; ぞ, ぜ for masculine), pronouns (あたし vs 俺), and word choices. These distinctions are softer in modern usage, especially among younger speakers, but they still carry stylistic weight in fiction and stylized speech.
