早寝早起き (early to bed, early to rise)

A compound expression literally 'early sleeping, early rising,' meaning 'early to bed, early to rise.' Often used as a suru-verb. Heavily promoted in Japanese health and parenting discourse — the longer slogan 早寝早起き朝ごはん ('early to bed, early to rise, [eat a proper] breakfast') is a national wellness campaign for children.
