芋焼酎 (sweet-potato shochu)

A traditional Japanese distilled spirit made from satsuma-imo (sweet potato). 焼酎 in general is a distilled spirit (contrast with sake, which is brewed); 芋焼酎 is one of the most popular varieties, especially from Kyushu.
