古紙回収 (paper recycling)

In Japan, old newspapers, magazines, and cardboard are sorted as 古紙 ('used paper') and collected separately for recycling, traditionally bundled with twine and set out on designated days. Neighborhood groups, scout troops, or schools sometimes run their own pickups in exchange for tissue paper.
