~ことだ (prescription / advice)

The pattern [clause]ことだ (or ことです), used to phrase general advice or a stated principle as an impersonal prescription — 'the thing to do is...,' 'you should...,' 'the point is...' Feels more distanced and proverbial than ~べきだ.
