~ことには (much to one's X)

The pattern [adjective/clause]+ことには, turning an evaluative noun phrase into an adverbial frame: 'much to one's X / the X thing is...' 残念なことには ('regrettably'), 驚いたことには ('to one's surprise / much to my surprise'), 悲しいことには ('sadly'), 悪いことには ('to make matters worse'), 更によいことには ('what's even better').
