まったく (completely, entirely)

The adverb まったく ('completely, entirely, totally, utterly'). With affirmative predicates it intensifies — まったく自発的 ('entirely voluntarily'). With negatives it gives 'not at all' (まったく~ない). Calibrates strongly in either direction.
