虫の音 (sound of insects)

The sound of insects, especially crickets, bell crickets, and other autumn insects. Celebrated in Japanese culture as a seasonal marker for autumn. Japanese tradition holds that these sounds are 'music' (音, ね) to be appreciated, not just noise.
