nonstandard なので after i-adjective

Standard Japanese uses bare ので (without な) after i-adjectives — 高いので, 寒いので. The form i-adjective+なので, as in 遠いなので, is technically nonstandard; it may reflect colloquial drift or imperfect prose. Worth noticing as an irregularity.
