nose-as-pride idioms

Japanese has a small family of idioms using the nose as the seat of pride or boastfulness: 鼻が高い ('be proud'), 鼻にかける ('be stuck up about'), 鼻を折る ('humble someone'). The nose imagery parallels the universal 'nose in the air' for arrogance.
