~のところ (someone's place)

The locative nominalization ~のところ, 'at / to / from someone's place / where X is.' Attaches the location-abstracting 所 to a personal noun via の: 先生のところ ('the teacher's place / where the teacher is'), X のところに行く ('go to X's place'), X のところで会う ('meet at X's place'). Less formal than X の家 (X's house); often used for informal locations and indirect reference.
