New England (ニューイングランド)

The northeastern United States — Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island — known for harsh, long winters and historic colonial heritage. Less iconic in Japanese popular culture than New York or California, but familiar through literature and academic associations (Harvard, MIT, Yale).
