おのぼりさん (country bumpkin in the city)

A playful term for a country person visiting the big city, literally 'one who is going up.' In Japanese geographical terms, traveling 'up' means toward Tokyo/the capital, regardless of actual direction. The さん adds affectionate politeness to what would otherwise be a slightly condescending label.
