~さ (adjective → noun)

The suffix ~さ that turns an i-adjective or na-adjective into an abstract noun expressing the quality: 高い → 高さ (height), 美しい → 美しさ (beauty), 静か → 静かさ (quietness). The most productive of several adjective-nominalizing suffixes (compare ~み, ~け).
