~と確信する (be convinced that)

A frame for expressing firm belief: clause + と確信する ('be convinced that'). The と is the quotative particle marking the embedded clause as the content of the conviction. Stronger than ~と思う ('think'); appropriate for declarations of firm belief, often in formal contexts.
