~と同じ (the same as)

Comparison pattern X と同じ ('the same as X / equal to X'), where と marks the standard of comparison. Asserts identity rather than approximation. Less hedged than と同じくらい ('about the same as'). Can be extended to ~と同じように ('in the same way as'). Common in everyday and written Japanese.
