The compound verb 使い果たす ('use up, exhaust the supply of'), built from 使う ('to use') + 果たす ('to fulfill, accomplish, exhaust'). Used for running through a finite resource — money, materials, energy, patience. Near-synonym 使い切る is more colloquial.
