つける (put on / attach accessories)

The verb つける ('to attach, to put on'), used for accessories that aren't full clothing — earrings, watches, glasses, badges, makeup, perfume. Pairs with に to mark the body location: 耳につける ('put on ears'), 手首につける ('put on the wrist').
