ワンギリ (one-ring scam)

A Japanese telephone scam tactic: the scammer calls and hangs up after one ring (ワンギリ = 'one cut'), counting on the victim to call back — at which point they are connected to a premium-rate line that bills them. A known nuisance-call pattern.
