Western wedding traditions in Japan

Western-style elements have become a standard fixture of contemporary Japanese weddings — white dress, exchange of rings, walking down the aisle. Often combined with or alternated with traditional Shinto-style elements. Bridesmaids and groomsmen are imported concepts without a clear pre-modern Japanese equivalent.
