classical volitional ~よう (verbal)

The classical volitional/suggestive auxiliary よう attached to a verb stem (できよう, あらしめよう), preserved in formal/literary writing as the plain counterpart of modern ~だろう or ~でしょう. Distinct from the modern volitional ~う/~よう (which expresses speaker intention) and from the related classical forms ~あろう/~であろう (for ある and the copula) and ~ん/~む (attached via 未然形).
