~よう (manner/way of)

The suffix ~よう (or ~ぶり) attached to verb masu-stems to mean 'the way of doing X' or 'the manner in which X is done.' 喜びよう (the way someone rejoices), 怒りよう (the way someone gets angry). Often used to comment on the intensity or quality of the action.
