幽霊 (yūrei, ghost)

The yūrei (幽霊) — Japanese ghosts traditionally depicted as pale figures in white burial robes with long unbound hair. Distinct from the more general お化け (monster, supernatural creature). Featured heavily in classical kabuki, ukiyo-e prints, and modern J-horror cinema.
