あげる (give, speaker to other)

The main verb あげる ('to give') — the speaker (or an in-group member) gives to someone else. Part of the three-way giving/receiving system (やりもらい) that encodes perspective in Japanese: あげる (outward giving), くれる (inward giving, toward me/my side), もらう (receiving). Humble equivalent: 差し上げる.
