耳の不自由な (hard of hearing)

The polite, descriptive way to refer to deaf or hard-of-hearing people in modern Japanese — literally 'whose ears have an impairment.' 不自由 stacks with body parts: 目の不自由な人 (visually impaired), 体の不自由な人 (physically disabled). Preferred over older clinical terms.
