見送り (seeing off, send-off)

The Japanese practice of formally seeing off visitors, departing employees, or travelers — accompanying them to the door, the elevator, the station, or even waving until they're out of sight. A core piece of Japanese hospitality (お持て成し), encoded in the verb 見送る.
