~のなら (if it is that)

The explanatory conditional ~のなら (sometimes contracted to ~んなら), combining explanatory の with conditional なら — 'if it is the case that X / given that X.' Takes up a premise (often just stated or established in context) and draws a response. Softer and more context-bound than plain なら.
