温泉 (onsen culture)

Japan's hot-spring (onsen) tradition — naturally heated mineral baths drawn from the country's volcanic geology, around which entire resort towns have developed. Soaking is a core leisure activity, often combined with a multi-course regional meal (kaiseki) and an inn stay (ryokan).
