Osaka — Japan's third-largest city and the cultural and economic heart of the Kansai region. Famous for its distinctive dialect (関西弁), food culture (たこ焼き, お好み焼き, くいだおれ), and a long tradition of comedy (漫才). Historically a merchant city contrasting with the political Tokyo and the imperial Kyoto.
