尺貫法 (traditional measurement system)

The pre-metric Japanese measurement system based on traditional units like 寸 (sun, ~3 cm), 尺 (shaku, ~30 cm), 間 (ken, ~1.8 m), and 里 (ri, ~3.9 km). Officially replaced by the metric system but still embedded in vocabulary, real estate, and traditional crafts.
