~わけでもない (it's not as if)

A hedged concessive negation: 'it's not as though X / it's not even the case that X / it's not like X.' わけ ('reason, situation') + でもない ('is not even'). Softer than ~わけではない; used to dismiss an exaggerated or unlikely scenario while leaving a subtle hedge.
