rhyming pair-word emphasis
vocabulary2 sentences
A productive Japanese pattern where a meaningful word is doubled with a rhyming, semantically empty partner for emphasis: なんでもかんでも (anything and everything), 何だかんだ (one way or another), あれこれ (this and that), どこもかしこも (here, there, and everywhere). The rhyming partner has no meaning on its own.
